📖 Matthew 5:14

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells His followers that they are the light of the world. Light reveals what is hidden, guides those who are lost, and brings clarity where there was once darkness. Just as a city set on a hill cannot be hidden, the life of someone transformed by Christ is meant to be visible.

This does not mean believers draw attention to themselves, but that their lives reflect the light of Christ. When we live with humility, integrity, compassion, and truth, the character of God becomes visible to those around us. In a world often marked by confusion and darkness, even small acts of faithfulness can shine brightly.

Being the light of the world reminds us that our lives carry influence. Through the way we live, speak, and love others, we have the opportunity to point people toward the goodness and truth of God.

Light does not argue with darkness, it simply shines.
